Without leaving their home, my parents worked with colleagues and friends to organize a surprise party for my 50th on 17 January 2008. Here I am photographed with Sam and Sandy Hays.

Friends and Family
Although I value my biological family, I firmly believe that “family” encompasses far more people than those with whom I share DNA.
Back through several generations, my biological family has always welcomed in individuals who not “relatives” as the way in which a genealogist would define them; individuals who were accepted as members of the family. This is one of the principle reasons I am baffled by those who oppose lesbian/gay marriage on the grounds that such relationships are a threat to heterosexual partners.
Family Portraits
I am still developing these photo galleries.
I have two photo galleries that focus on portraits of individuals who are significant in my life.
- Family Portraits
The individuals featured in this gallery are biological and non-biological family members.
- People One Ought to Know
I would not consider everyone in this gallery to be members of my family. But the portraits are of individuals with whom I have interacted in a meaningful way.
Liberacki-Berg-Wilcox Genealogy
During the last few years of her life, my mother devoted herself to working on a family genealogy. When she died in December 2008, I took over the role of family genealogist.
The Liberacki-Berg-Wilcox Genealogy is available on-line.
